TV and video games can take away a lot of your time. We often assume we can easily stop after 1 more episode or after that boss battle. Not so fast.

Story writers add tension at the end of a movie episode to entice you into resuming the next episode. Game developers exploit your dopamine release mechanism by letting you earn some mini rewards and a rare big reward. It takes a considerable amount of willpower to spurn these worldly entertainments.

Make your access to these time wasters as troublesome as possible to discourage you from consuming them.
