We Are Not Naturally Benevolent

We Are Not Naturally Benevolent

Many concur that children by themselves are purely righteous and ruined only by the environment. Not true.

Without any parental discipline, familial support, or teachers’ guidance, children resort to their primal instinct to satisfy their gratifications. They don’t know that it is not okay to steal when they see a bag of sweets and that it is not okay to bite when others don’t want to share. They don’t know how to behave to be accepted socially. With no interception, the path to malevolent manifests them as they grow up.

While it is true that our surroundings shape us to be better or worse, we certainly will be evil if we are left to our own accord.
