Insatiable Conquests for Beauty

Insatiable Conquests for Beauty

Human has a strong desire to be liked. One way to fulfill that is to beautify ourselves—or so we thought.

  • We emblazoned ourselves with luxury wears.
  • We remodeled our face, breast, or belly.
  • We holed our nose, ear, lip

We know this is not us, but feel compelled to comply because we buy into other people's perception of comeliness.

To feel likable, we struggle to meet the expected attributes that make up an attractive human. The expectations are set by the majority of humans, who each perceive beauty differently. But then majority always wins. The ads that are pervasive win. We let them determine what beauty is, even though it is a statistical inference, not an absolute.
