Striking Visage Blurs Perceptions

Striking Visage Blurs Perceptions

We attribute most incidents to be influenced by its conspicuous feature.

  • If a motorcycle crashed when it was snowing, we may blame the snow even if the motorcycle would still crash without the snow.
  • If a seller increased price after a presidential election, we theorize that the election caused the price increase.
  • If a tattooed teenager committed a crime, we are quick to assume that all tattooed men are rascals.

As hard as that is to accept, a book cover does not represent the quality of its content.
